Oh, I just clicked on the link to Noah Levine. My roommate was telling me about him! How synchronous!

Don't let your spirit get down, because that is the opposite of what meditation should do. If you can't do two hours, do 10 minutes broken up into 5 minute sessions and work up from there. It's all about baby steps. Our goal is not to be spiritual athletes.

I also think it's much easier to ease into meditation by consciously addint it to my schedule, when I know others will be around. That's why despite not being Quaker with a capitol Q I will still go to the meetings because discipline is a long process.

"It is a habit of the mind and it will never stop, but it will rob me of everything I seek on this path if I continue to give in to it. "

So true. I also fight this battle, and have similarly understood what my "enemy" is. Resistance is also inherently associated with death. The entropy of our existence means that "stopping" (or giving in to this resistance) is akin to dying. On a spiritual level this means that procrastination and other enfeeblement of action sees us miss out on certain opportunities to live more fulfilling lives and propagate into 'higher' forms. Someone who is too lazy to eat will see their body be broken down by entropy. This is similar in spiritual practice, though we may find this hunger far more difficult to appease.

More power to you, Warrior.
